So far no joy.This happened with one of my wife google accounts a couple of weeks ago, after doing a lot of reading the cure was bizarrely changing the imap and smtp servers from and to and, I would have thought they were the same thing but touch wood she hasn't complained about being asked for the password again. I'm slowly disconnecting from using Google services so at this point setting up Gmail in Outlook is really only to see if it stays connected. One is for Download complete items including attachments for subscribed folders and the other is for Use the custom behavior defined below. Step 6 Enter your name in the name field Enter your Google Workspace (or gmail) email address in Email field Under account type, select IMAP Put imap.gmail. I try to repair the account to no avail and end-up removing it, and re-installing after a re-boot or two. After playing around with all the settings in Outlook, there is a setting/checkbox in Define Send/Receive Groups -> Edit -> Receive mail items. A few hours later, there is an Outlook warning that it can not connect to the IMAP folder. It installs easily (see comments above), connects and imports email.
Almost every day or two I will set-up Gmail on Outlook 2019. The problem is well-reported on other web sites and there are many, many people trying to either install or keep their Gmail accounts connected in Outlook. In the Auto Account Setup, check on Manual. I'm re-opening this for the benefit of other users who are looking for a solution, although you won't find one here unless someone can provide a fix.
